    Aim of the training – What benefit do I get from the training?

    According to recent research, many projects commence with an optimistic business case which is often poorly written. This results in organisations spending money that may well not give them the return they expect or want. In our post-recession world, the focus is increasingly on showing value for money.The purpose of the Foundation qualification is to confirm that you have sufficient knowledge and understanding of the guidance to be able to work effectively with, or as a member of, a team to develop a business case using the Five Case Model. The Foundation qualification is also a pre-requisite for the Practitioner qualification.

    By the end of this learning you should understand the structure and key terminology of the model. Specifically:

    • The philosophy and underlying rationale of the Five Case Model
    • The different types of business case, their purpose, who is responsible for them and when they are     required in the development of a spending proposal
    • The development of the business case in relation to other recognized and recommended best practice for programme and project management

    Target group – Who should attend the training?

    The course is relevant to those responsible for developing and producing spending proposals or their assessment and approval; in particular:

    • Senior Responsible Owners (SROs),
    • Programme Directors,
    • EPMO/PMO leaders and Project Managers, responsible for successful business case development and programme and project delivery;
