ITIL V3 set the standard in IT service management for a number of years, with thousands of practitioners becoming ITIL certified according to its syllabus. With the release of ITIL 4, many ITIL students and practitioners were worried about having to restart their training from scratch - which is exactly where the ITIL 4 Managing Professional (MP) Transition module comes in.

The ITIL 4 Managing Professional (MP) Transition certification exam covers five ITIL 4 modules:

    • ITIL 4 Foundation
    • ITIL 4 Specialist: Create, Deliver and Support
    • ITIL 4 Specialist: Drive Stakeholder Value
    • ITIL 4 Specialist: High Velocity IT
    • ITIL 4 Strategist: Direct, Plan and Improve

Passing the exam updates an ITIL V3 practitioner’s qualifications, leaving them certified in all but one of the ITIL 4 certification path modules. It also earns them the designation of ‘ITIL 4 Managing Professional’, allowing them to unlock additional responsibilities and higher-paying roles.
